Degen Generation: An Interactive Docuseries Experiment

Degen Generation: An Interactive Docuseries Experiment

Imagine sitting down to watch a captivating docuseries, only to be handed the reins and given the power to shape the story as it unfolds. Welcome to the revolutionary concept of the “Degen Generation” docuseries, where you, the viewer, get to make the decisions that drive the narrative forward.

We’re on the hunt for a talented Game Designer to join our team and help bring this innovative idea to life. Our goal is to create a unique, interactive experience that blends the best elements of “choose your own adventure” books with the latest advancements in blockchain technology.

The Degen Generation docuseries follows the adventures of Tom Gillespie as he navigates the world of meme coins, interviews candidates for his projects, and explores new locations. To enhance the viewer’s experience, we’ll be incorporating interactive moments every 25 minutes or so, giving you the power to decide Tom’s next move.

I’ve a long list of moments from the past 12 months while in production that could be used as inspiration, rather than have too many decisions for the viewer to make, my current thinking is to focus the decision making turning points around:

1. Toms memecoin purchases

2. Interview candidates to pursue

3. locations to send Tom to document

4. Organic community invitations

At these pivotal moments, the video will pause, and you’ll be presented with a binary question. You’ll need to make a choice by clicking on your preferred option, verifying that you have a certain amount of $GDAY (the official currency of the Degen Generation) in your connected wallet. From there, the video will continue on the path you’ve chosen.

Inspired by the classic “Choose Your Own Adventure” books of the 80s and the recent success of Charlie Brooker’s “Bandersnatch,” we’re excited to test the boundaries of interactivity in storytelling. Our vision is to create a unique “In-Film-Currency” system that allows viewers to engage with the story on a deeper level.

But that’s not all. We’re also exploring the potential for a business model that would allow viewers to lock funds toward specific story paths, releasing them to the production team once certain criteria are met. This could lead to a whole new level of community-driven storytelling, with viewers investing in the direction of the narrative.

In future iterations, we might even introduce voting mechanisms that require larger amounts of $GDAY to participate, with the stakes getting higher in the storyline as viewers must hold larger amounts to choose the next path for Tom. It’s an exciting opportunity to redefine the way we consume and engage with documentary-style content.

If you’re a Game Designer with a passion for storytelling, blockchain technology, and the Degen Generation, we want to hear from you. Join our team and help us revolutionize the world of interactive docuseries. Together, let’s create a truly immersive and unforgettable experience for viewers around the world.
